I WANNA BE INSANE

A music video that was never going to end up quite the way we planned it.

We took key inspiration from the True Detective title sequences and wanted to keep the sense of mystery and tension but felt the song needed a more seamless and flowing visual experience.  Although we planned almost every second of the video; the flow and where the cuts were, what we wanted on screen, the colour palate and VFX work way before we even started filming the elements we needed, it's quite an evolution from the pre-visualtion we initially created.  It wasn't until we got into post, when we really started to see what was working and what wasn't.

Over 200 hours has been burned on this and it's been one of our most complex post-production challenges to date, we used a combination of 4K 120 fps slow-motion footage we filmed of the band and a model and other assets, stock footage, 3D modelling and a number of still images for textures and overlays.  All this was composited, 3D tracked and colour graded to create the timeline you see below.
